A big frost. It got warm through the day. We pay the last debt of honor to Josie. She was buried about noon. John Emory came home with me. Mack came with Pa and Ma. Uncle Zenis and ? ran down in the evening. They got lost. We did not work today.
September 24
It is raining this morning. It comminced ? by in the night. It rains till about noon. After dinner it cleared off. Aunt C? and her husband & Jay & Lloyd Emory came down. There were 6 brothers and 3? sisters of the Emory family here. 20? in number Including all. I got a letter from Abbie?
September 25
A nice day. rained a little in the evening Aunt Ceny? and her husband went home [this day is very hard to read there are some words here I can't make out] The other boys started out to hunt. After dinner 4 of them left for home. Cora and Mattie were up to Aunt Rews. Zenis took them up. Mat? came back in the evening. Mr. Noble took ??? I harrowed till noon.

Back to the Journals again.
Hi. I have been bad and haven't been keeping up with my end of the bargain. I am posting more days today. Sorry for the delay in 19th Century Scioto County action. :)
